Stuart (Stu) Cohen

Founder and Independent Insurance Agent

With over 48 years of experience, Stu has specialized in insuring real estate in the greater New York City area. He is a licensed insurance agent, broker, and consultant in New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut. Stu’s extensive knowledge and personalized approach have been instrumental in safeguarding clients’ investments.

Amy B.

“We work hard, but we have a lot of laughs.”

Amy B. started her insurance career in 2017, when she joined the City Building Owners Insurance family. She specializes in assisting customers with personal lines products, including homeowner’s insurance for residential properties of up to four units and automotive policies. Amy especially enjoys the close camaraderie she shares with her co-workers as they pursue a common mission: providing customers with a superior service experience. 

Amy W.

A City Building Owners Insurance family member since 1995, Amy W. has spent more than three decades in insurance. She primarily supports clients with commercial lines, although she frequently pinch-hits when a personal lines customer needs assistance. An avid reader, Amy W. devours stories in all forms, from novels and movie scores to customer origin stories and anecdotes. She treasures the close-knit relationships shared with colleagues and clients.

Angela

“When speaking with clients, our conversations almost always turn to food dishes or health issues. I’ve been called a mix of Rachael Ray and Dr. Phil.”

An insurance veteran with nearly two decades of experience, Angela supports commercial clients at the City Building Owners Insurance Program, which she joined in 2013. She appreciates her “work family,” which includes her colleagues and the customers they serve, as well as the opportunity to shape and support a growing agency. In her leisure time, Angela enjoys riding motorcycles and hanging out with family members. 

Debbie

“We’ve all been together for such a long time that we know each other’s family and personal lives. It’s really nice.”

Debbie started working in the insurance industry straight out of high school, when she accepted a job with Hartford Insurance. A member of the City Building Owners Insurance team since 1995, Debbie specializes in commercial lines, where she assists clients with loss control recommendations, certificates of insurance, and cancellations. She applies unwavering attention to detail in follow-up so customers can rest easy, knowing that their policies are in good hands.

Diana

“We don’t treat clients as business opportunities. We get to know them as people so we can help meet their needs.”

Diana’s insurance career began in 1966. She started working with both personal and commercial lines before deciding to specialize in personal insurance products. Today, she’s one of the go-to experts for homeowner’s insurance at the City Building Owners Insurance program, where she has worked since 2006. Diana appreciates her co-workers and the company’s personalized approach to providing insurance solutions. 

Karen

“I enjoy the laughter we have here. We like what we do, and we have fun together.”

A seasoned insurance veteran with four decades of experience, Karen has been part of the City Building Owners Insurance team since the program’s inception. She wears many different hats as the office manager, supporting team members in commercial and personal lines and assisting wherever she’s needed. Weather permitting—more often than not, armed with a snow shovel—Karen likes to refine her grill master skills. (Watch out, Bobby Flay!)

Nataliya

“I love what I do. We help people out, and we have fun while we’re doing it.”

One of the newer team members, Nataliya joined the City Building Owners Insurance program six years ago. She provides administrative support to the office staff and assists customers as needed. Nataliya’s favorite part of her job is the people—from founder Stu Cohen and her colleagues to the customers they serve. She enjoys the work environment and camaraderie.
